theDAWstudio.com has a multitude of goals, but most fall under the following three broad goals:

1. Provide useful, clear, and concise information about audio recording
2. Provide unbiased reviews and information about recording equipment
3. Gather and present comprehensive resources about recording

1. Provide useful, clear, and concise information about audio recording
There are tons of great books, many good magazines, and loads of amazing information available online; but it often takes hours of looking through all of these resources to get the gist of a complicated or even basic aspect of recording. theDAWstudio.com aims to provide clear and concise articles about these topics. These articles often include audio examples, video presentations, and the absense of confusing mathematical equations in order to clearly show the basic idea of a concept. If a reader desires to learn more and go deeper into a topic theDAWstudio.com provides links to other resources including books and videos. The end goal is to have a great starting point for anyone searching for tips, tricks, and any general information about recording.

2. Provide unbiased reviews and information about recording equipment
Many reviews and information about equipment is biased towards making everything great and amazing. Most reviews are done by companies who advertise for the manufacturers of the equipment they are reviewing. Most product descriptions are either done by the manufacturer or a retailer trying to making every piece of equipment appear to be totally amazing. theDAWstudio.com may advertise for both manufacturers and retailers, but at no time will we cater our reviews to the demands of either. We pledge to always provide reviews and descriptions about recording equipment that are not biased by advertisers or retailers; only by our opinions, tests, and user comments. In addition we provide comparisons to similar gear and a rating system to avoid comparing a $200 microphone to a $5,000 one. The end goal is to provide a useful guide to helping someone find that next great piece of gear.

3. Gather and present comprehensive resources about recording
Most every retailer posts a list of the manufacturers of equipment that they sell. None of these lists include every manufacturer of music equipment out there because who is going to advertise gear that they can’t sell. We have the most comprehensive recording equipment manufacturers list on the web. We also have an unheard of list of retailers, suggestions of books and magazines, and mixing and mastering service providers. Almost every list includes a link to the company’s website and some pertinent information. The goal is to make a lot of great resources available at the click of a button without having to search the whole web (we do that for you).

theDAWstudio.com provides a lot of great information as a service to the recording community. The above goals are at the heart of the desire to provide these services. There is advertising on theDAWstudio.com that is aimed at providing revenue for the site in order to make more resources available. As the site increases in users, traffic, and revenue there will be more reviews, more articles, and more resources available to all.

Enjoy!
